Angela Prince, M.S., LPC
Angela Prince graduated with a Master of Science Degree in Community Psychology from Lamar University in 2002, and with an Associate’s Degree in Substance Abuse Counseling from Lamar University Port Arthur, in 1997. She has worked as a testing technician for Beaumont Psychological Services since 2001, and also with outpatient and residential treatment, and private practice. Her experience also includes incarcerated populations in the Federal Bureau of Prisons, intensive outpatient treatment of pain management and substance abuse, relaxation, EAP (Employee Assistance Programs), and play therapy. She has additional training in anger management and hypnosis. She has worked with a variety of presenting problems including anxiety/depression disorders, substance abuse/co-dependency, marriage and relationship conflict, parenting, anger management, victims of sexual abuse, grief, chronic pain, PTSD, ADHD, and adjustment to divorce/blended families. Client populations include children ages 4 and up, adults, adolescents, couples, and families.
Ms. Prince enjoys working with interpersonal relationship skills and the dynamics of family systems. Strengthening functioning on both individual and interpersonal levels is a major focus of therapy. Teaching effective communication, problem resolution and decision-making skills, individual coping skills, and relaxation techniques are areas she especially enjoys working with. Another area of special interest is addictive relationships/behaviors and co-dependency. Her therapeutic style is an eclectic and holistic approach as she believes the best treatment for clients is one that complements their individual personality and abilities.
