Parenting Coordination/Facilitation

This service is a child-centered, dispute resolution process for conflicted divorced and divorcing parents in which mediation would not be appropriate due to high levels of conflict. Parenting Coordinators/Facilitators provide education and case management to ensure that parents are fulfilling their obligations to their child(ren) while complying with the recommendations of the court. Parenting Coordinators/Facilitators assist parents in establishing and maintaining a healthy co-parenting relationship by reducing parental conflict and the risk factors that influence a child’s post-divorce adjustment. The state of Texas requires Parenting Coordinators/Facilitators to complete an approved 24 hour Parent Coordination course and an 8 hour Domestic Violence course. The overall goal is to provide children of divorce with an opportunity to grow in a home environment free from the devastating stress of being caught in the middle of parental conflict.
